The Arabian Peninsula Partnership

The Gospel for every person and a church for every people in the Arabian Peninsula amongst indigenous peoples

July 21, 2009

Seek to serve Him.

Praise

Praise God that tentmakers, Kenneth & Jane have found employment. Thank God for the "kingdom minded" company that is willing to hire them. Pray for Kenneth & Jane and their kids as they say their goodbyes to family and loved ones and move to the field by mid-August.

Prayer

Pray for a worker family who are facing a move soon - for a clear way forward, for a new house to be provided in the place of God's choosing for them, and for strength and vision in a time of change.

Pray for the witness of the churches here - pray for God to work in the lives of thousands of Christians from all around the world who are here on work contracts. Ask God to revive His people here and give them a vision to reach out to the locals around them.

A Yemenia flight crashed off of the coast of the Comoro Islands earlier this month. There was one known survivor. Pray for the families who grieve the loss of their loved ones. Pray for those who are investigating the crash.

Hundreds of e-mails from Gulf locals, many quality hits on web-sites, Skype used to share. Without doubt: God is using modern media to make Himself known! Let's pray for those involved in developing and using these media tools… Pray they can give a good culturally appropriate response. Also pray that those working on the field and those in Media will help each other and that this will lead to believers meeting together.

Many are travelling over the summer. Pray that momentum will not be lost with those relationships between workers and those seeking to know more about Christ.

Testimony

This week, a lady was visiting her friends in a very poor neighbourhood. Cardboard lined the walls of the simple one room home and the household goods were stored in suitcases and trunks in the corner. As she listened, the lady heard the other ladies mentioning the death of Michael Jackson. She chuckled that these women even knew who he was. Then she was saddened that they would know so much about one who led a life full of strife and worldliness, but did not understand anything about the Man who was perfect and offers them eternal life. Pray that soon they will learn more about Him and seek to serve Him.
