STORYTELLING, RETREAT, AND PRAYER FOR PEACE

STORYTELLING - A TESTIMONY

Two team members went out this week and had a coffee among some guys that they met a while ago. Somehow the conversation turned to the old tradition of telling stories as a way to convey wisdom. These guys are a part of such a setting where the old men still tell these stories. Our team members were a bit surprised that this is still occurring, but gave them a challenge. They offered to tell them a few stories and asked if they would bring the stories to the large gathering of their relatives and repeat the story to them and then tell our team members what the larger gathering thought about the story. They accepted the challenge and two stories were shared; one of the father and his two lost sons, and the other off the seeds in the four different soils. Will you pray that the words will penetrate the hearts of those who listen to it? We are curious as to how the stories were received and what the response was. Pray it will open up the opportunity for us to give them another couple of stories. They know the parables are from Jesus.

RETREAT - PRAYER REQUEST

"Lydia" and K have been friends for a few years, and Lydia's family has welcomed this blvr into their family as a sister, daughter, granddaughter, and aunt. The relationship K has with this family can only be of the Father because she is single and a blvr. Lydia and K are like sisters, and it has only been in the last 9 months that their conversations have gone more deeply into sp things. K had shared from the Word and her story from the beginning, but it never went much deeper until a few months ago. Father told K to give Lydia His book as one of her Eid gifts and to tell her He had told her to give it. Now, Lydia is reading on her own and has asked for an opportunity to get away for a weekend to just read His Word. So, Lydia and K will go away this weekend to the mountains to read. Lydia has never been to the mountains, so please ask that this time will be a time of making all things new for Lydia...a new spirit, a new f*ith. Ask that she will hear with new ears and receive wholeheartedly. At the same time, please also remember Lydia's entire household. She is with her parents, brothers, sister-in-laws, and nieces and nephews. They are close. Ask that the HS also be working in their hearts to receive the Word spoken to them, when that time comes. Ask that His body be born in this family.

PRAYER FOR PEACE

Recently a young boy in the southern part of the region was given a camera to take pictures of his neighborhood. He took photos of bombed out buildings, impassable roads and areas that are virtually empty which should have been busy and thriving. Pray for the children who are facing an environment that they should never have had to live in. Pray that they will hear about the God who loves them even though their surroundings scream otherwise. Pray for peace in their nation.
